The Hall of Valor Civil War Museum is located at the
New Market Battlefield State Historical Park. The museum focuses on the involvement of Virginia in the Civil War and pays tribute to the cadets of the Virginia Military Institute who fought at the Battle of New Market.
Some of the features among the artifacts and displays include a stained glass window designed by Ami Shamir which depicts the Civil War in the Shenandoah Valley, a life-size display of Jackson's Battery showing the Confederate artillery in action, a diorama of the railroads in the War, and a theater which shows an hourly screening of the Emmy Award-winning film, Field of Lost Shoes.
Along the upper tier of the Virginia Room the progression of the Civil War in Virginia is traced through wall displays, maps, and displays. There is an open view of the level below and regimental banners hang from the ceiling in the center. The lower level provides more wall displays and artillery and weaponry exhibits.
