Alpaca Valley Farms is home to over 650 alpacas, with about 150 in the breeding herd and the others make up our fiber herd. The breeding herd consists of full Peruvian, Bolivian and Chilean females and breeding males.
Alpaca Valley Farms is a family venture, a way of life for us. On the farm you will find Todd and Michelle and their two kids Makayla and McKinley, and Todd's dad and mom (Bill and Betty). Todd teaches at BYU and runs the farm, but as you can imagine it takes the whole family to care for the animals. Everyone has their duties. Michelle is the cria maid and the mid-wife! The kids help at shearing time and with feeding chores. Bill thought he had retired, but finds he works harder now than he did when he had a full-time job. Raising alpacas is a lifestyle and one that we love. If the rat race of life is getting to you and you want a stress reliever, alpacas fit the bill!!
