George Town is the principal town on the island of Penang. The north east corner of the town is the 'old town' part of the town (World Heritage Listed). Here, at the northern end of the small 'classy' night club strip, is this establishment. The sign above the door advertises it as the 'Uptown Bistro', however, while I could see no sign of its prior use, I strongly suspect that it was not always an entertainment spot.
The building is in good repair, it is a bright yellow, which sets it apart from its surrounds, and has a date both for the 'erection' of the building (1924), and for its establishment (1925). It is easily seen up and down the busy street.
