This memorial is located just south of the municipal building in the city of Huron, South Dakota.
It is the culmination of many hours of work to put together a fitting remembrance for three police officers killed in the line of duty in the city of Huron.
The three officers, Hawley, Deyo, and Callies, were all dedicated individuals who loved their jobs and did the most they could for the citizens of Huron.
The verbage on the monument reads as follows:
DEDICATED TO THE POLICE OFFICERS WHO HAVE SERVED HURON, SD, AND TO THE BRAVE OFFICERS WHO MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE IN THE LINE OF DUTY.
