Pershing Park is in front of the Willard Hotel and not far the White House on Pennsylvania Avenue. It is named after General John J. Pershing, who served as General of the Armies in World War I and has a memorial statue of him at one end of the park. Nearby is an attractive pavilion building. In the middle of the park is a beautiful fountain flowing into a pool. In the winter the pool freezes into an ice rink. There are nice benches and walkways to enjoy the park. At the end of the park opposite the Pershing statue is the Bex Eagle sculpture.
