This prominent sundial marks the village and the road, la rue de la cadran solaire. The sundial is painted on a stone or concrete slab about 1.8 m wide, 2.5 m high and 30 cm thick. The shape is rectangular with a semi-circular top. The sundial faces south and inclines slightly forward. The current gnomon is offset above the original position, the intersection of the hour lines. The side view shows the angle is not correct as the angle is less than 39°, the co-latitude, even when corrected for the inclination.
The time was approximately correct when corrected for daylight savings when we passed at 9:45 am and late in the afternoon on 7 April, 2011.
The motto in Corsican is “DA MI SOLI, TI DARAGHJU L’ ORA”
Sundial Type: Vertical - Wall mounted dial plate
