Dan lies at the feet of his owners George W. and Hannah Millar Brown. Although there are no dates on Dan's statue, George W.'s birth and death dates were March 24, 1832, and April 29, 1909. His wife Hannah's birth and death dates were July 22, 1830, and November 22, 1911.
