Last one of three pubs in Therfield. There were originally the Bell Inn, Hoops, and the Fox & Duck. The first two pubs ceased trading around the time of the First World War. The Fox and Duck has also been known known as the Fox Inn, although the Fox and Duck name dates back to at least 1750, when a William Figgis mortgaged the Fox and Duck to Royston victualler Thomas Crockett. The current building is a Victorian replacement of the original inn.
