Sep. 19, 1863 Battery I, 4th US Artillery
1st Lieut F. G. Smith Comg of 3rd Brig,
3rd Div, 14th Corps, was engaged on the Reed’s Bridge Road a mile east of the McDonals house, from about 7:30 A.M. until afternoon. On Sept 20, 1863, it occupied positions on Snodgrass Hill throughout the day, being repeatedly engaged.
Loss – Killed and wounded
