Ratchaburi is a small town in central Thailand, ~70kms to the west of Bangkok. Along the main highway leading into town from the north, is this bridge. The bridge stretches across the Mea Klong River (which means, so I am told, small river). The bridge is ~150m long, with two lanes. It runs parallel with an adjacent train bridge.

In the centre of the bridge, on both sides of the bridge is a low wall, and on the centre of each wall is an inscription. The text reads, so I am told, 'bridge' and the dedication date '2504' in the Buddhist era, which translates into 1961 CE. The waymark was made at this centre point. Essentially the inscription states that the bridge was put into service in the year 1961.

I could find no info about the bridge in the town, nor were there locals available for interrogation. Clearly, the bridge is important. It is the main road link from Bangkok into the town centre. I suspect it would have been the first major bridge in the province.
