The hotel on El Camino Real is now part of the Best Western chain.
In the movie John Lithgow plays a father with multiple personality disorder. The fim's ending takes place at the hotel on a rainy night. Lithgow's charcter, Dr. Carter Nix (as one of his personalities) kinaps his daughter and take her to the hotel. It's up to his estranged wife (Lolita Davidovich) to save her child.
