Louis J. Claude was one of the first settlers at Devil's Lake. He built "Eagle Crag" in 1857 and named it after an area in Englan's Lake District where he was originally from. The Claude Family; Elvira (eife), Louise Ward (daughter) and Louis Ward (son); lived in the richly designed Tudor house for many years. The house was removed in 1953.
