This baseball is made out of steel. When I moved to Roy in 2005 I saw these huge steel balls all over the place. It turns out that a local military surplus bought thousands of floats from the US Navy after World War II and sold them to the residents here in northern Utah. I guess Roy bought one of the steel floats and painted it to look like a baseball.
