This is a Cook County Highway Department benchmark disk set in a bridge over the Edens Expressway.

This Cook County Highway Department disk is set in the northeast corner of the bridge carrying Niles Center Rd over the Edens Expressway (I-94). The disk is set into the top of the northeasternmost support column of the bridge, just north of the end of the eastern chain-link fence preventing things from falling onto the expressway below.

The disk is easy to view from the sidewalk - just lean over the low concrete wall and you should be able to see it.
