This monument is dedicated to Kane County residents who
participated in all wars. The original monument was for the Civil War
participants. The World War I parts of the monument are two WWI naval guns
mounted on each side of the monument. The guns are 4.7 inch naval guns one from
the U.S.S. New Orleans and the other from the U.S.S. Albany. The WWI portion of
the monument was dedicated April 1, 1925.
