This monument marks the spot where John M. Browning built a gunshop and manufacturing facility in 1880.
John built his first gun at age 13 and is credited with 128 gun patents
Browning's most successful designs include the M1911 pistol, the Browning .50 caliber machine gun, the Browning Automatic Rifle, and a ground-breaking semi-automatic shotgun, the Browning Auto-5.
The plaque on the monument is a duplicate of the one sent by the Belgium that was placed in the firearms factory in Liege Belgium
