In 1940 HO had a different meaning than today!
A little history, Jack and Fern Morrison came to the Mt Carmel the same year the Zion Mt Carmel tunnel was built. They started a gas station on what was then a gravel road. Fern was a good cook and would make pies for the truck drivers passing through. In 1940 they opened a restaurant that still stands today. We heard the pies are great but were to full to eat desert. Next time we pass through here we will start with desert.
They have a very impressive neon sign for the Thunderbird Restaurant. We were here during the day but the menu had a photo of the sign lighted. If you were wondering, the food was pretty good.
Did you explain the double meaning of the word(s)?: yes
Did you explain the location or wording that brings the sign's double meaning to mind?: yes
Did you explain the meaning of life? :): yes
