San Francisco is a city with many hilly neighborhoods. There are many hidden stairways that connect hillside neighborhoods.
The Esmeralda Stairs are a series of three block long stairways that lead up to he west side of Bernal Heights Park. This lower section climbs from Coleridge Street up to Lundys Lane. Posted coordinates are at the bottom of the stairway. The elevation gain is about 35 feet over 61 steps in two flights with a single landing.
The Coleridge Mini-Park is across the street from the bottom of the stairway.
At the top of the stairs (N37 44.634 W122 25.147), there's a short half-block street connector to the middle Esmeralda Stairway section. |
