Road of Trail Name: Sublette Cut-Off of Emigrant Trail
 State: Wyoming
 County: Sublette
 Historical Significance: This short-cut shaved 85 miles and about 7 days from the westward journey of the emigrants but subjected them to about 45 miles without water or wood for fires.
 Years in use: 15 years - 1844-1859
 How you discovered it: The marker was included on a list of historic markers in Sublette County.

 Why?: Emigrants in a hurry to reach their destination on the west coast could shorten their travel time by about 7 days but had to cross 45 miles of desert to do so.
 Directions: US Highway 191 eight miles north of the junction with Wyoming Highway 28 at Farson.
