The province and capital of Nakon Pathom lie approximately 50kms west of Bangkok, however, the region falls economically and socially within the urban sprawl of greater Bangkok. There is a rail line linking the town to Bangkok, and this line has a small station on the north side of the city.
The station building stands parallel to the train line, inside is a ticket counter, and a small food and drink store. Through the station are the tracks and seats for patrons. Outside are the usual assortment of tuk tuk drivers waiting to whisk you around town.
This rail line originates in Bangkok (as do most things in Thailand), twists west to Nakon, and then heads south, splitting into a variety of lines.
