Gardner Historic Village located in West Jordan, Utah, has preserved may pioneer homes and cabins. The Orson Albert Johnson Cabin is a rare example of hand-hewn, two-story log home construction.

THE ORSON ALBERT JOHNSON CABIN Orson A. Johnson migrated to Clover with his parents in 1856 where they lived in a dugout. His father died when he was eleven and Orson, being the oldest child, assumed responsibility for the family. Orson later married and built small log cabin where ten of twelve Johnson children were born. He had this large cabin built by Silas Erickson of Grantsville in 1886. This cabin is one of the rare examples of a hand-hewn, two-story log home. Relocated to Gardner Historic Village 1989.
