Filmed in Eugene Oregon in 1979 the film features several locations throughout the city. One scene was filmed at Westmoreland Parks north baseball field. In the scene the umpire played by Eddie Albert gets fed up with the coach of the little league "Giants" and lays him low with a one-two knockout combo. The scene features actors Michael Bell, Jane Curtin, Eddie Albert, Susan Saint James and Jessica Lange,
The area is much the same. The silver water tower in the background has been repainted green, The concession stand is showing its age and there are a few new buildings in the area but overall it is the same as when the scene was filmed thirty-two years ago.
