Toad Hollow is a small group of dwellings on a small spot of land next to the Davis Post Office. Sporting a sign, several "homes", some solar panels, and an access entry-way to several specially built tunnels that lead the toads under the six-lane highway that had cut the toads off from their life-giving wetlands.

Many have passed by Toad Hollow and have never even noticed that it is there, but the location was a hotspot back in 1995 when the dirt road here was replaced with a six-lane paved highway, which signaled the death to many a toad. Nature lovers (and toad lovers) heated up the contoversy until several $14,000, six inch diameter pipes were constucted under the Pole Line Road, to give the toads a safer route to the wetlands area nearby, called the Core Area Drainage Pond.

The tunnels were not well received by the toads at first, however, so the city came back and added lights inside the tunnels to show the toads the way. Unfortunately, this caused the tunnels to be quite warm, which harmed a few toads. It was also noticed that birds tended to congretate at both ends of the tunnels, awaiting the passage of the toads.

(It should be noted that the critters that live at Toad Hollow and use the tunnel are actually frogs, not toads).
