This fun design peaks out from behind the tree branches on this rural Akron farm. It is easy to spot while the branches are still bare, but will probably be difficult to see clearly when the trees leaf out.
“Corn Splend-Ear” was the third quilt in Plymouth Country to be mounted and is an original design with each of the ears of corn representing their four grown children. The blue represents the sky and the red star in the center shines out to welcome their families home. The quilt was painted by local elementary students in the Talented and Gifted class and was blessed by their pastor during the hanging celebration.
This quilt is on the south side of Hwy. 3 east of Akron. It is listed as # 3 on the Plymouth County barn quilt tour map
Your Visit: I found this nice quilt while meandering through the country roads on a barn quilt search.
