Donamire Farm is tucked into the corner made by Yarnallton Pike as it intersects Old Frankfort Pike. Designated as a Scenic Byway, Old Frankfort Pike is one of a number of horse-farm-lined highways that wind out of Lexington. Donamire is widely recognized for its picturesque stone barns with steeply pitched slate roofs, cupolas and spires set among fifteen miles of curving white fences that follow the contours of the rolling hills. The 650 acre thoroughbred horse farm is owned by Don and Mira Ball and is home to some sixty horses. The white plank fencing defines broad paddocks, a cupola-crowned stallion barn, yearling barn and broodmare barn. A long hilltop training barn overlooks a mile turf training track and a 5/8 mile dirt track with infield lakes often rife with Canadian geese
