The 30th St. Patrick's Day Parade began at 10:30 a.m. at 5th and Juniper Streets...with contingents of local law enforcement, firefighters, military, Irish dancers, Irish pub representation, high school bands, etc. One humorous contingent (PISS'D) represented the "Partially Irish Sons & daughters of San Diego" and had a depiction of Charlie Sheen dressed as a leprachaun on it's vehicle float. After going up a few blocks on 5th, the Parade turns around and comes down 6th Avenue ending at Laurel Street in Balboa Park.
The Irish Festival portion of the day presented dozens of food booths (corned beef and cabbage, of course was available), vendors, give aways, etc with 2 stages offering Irish music and dance. The Festival took place in Balboa Park along 6th Ave. There is no cost...but, identification is needed to enter the beer garden.
