A pair of 500-700 year old mounds are now preserved for future generations to learn from.

This late prehistoric mound and village site is affiliated with the Langford tradition of the Upper Mississippian period, dating to around A.D. 1200-1500.
Of the preserved site, the two mounds east of the posted parking coordinates are the most distinguishable.
Although the site has been partially excavated in the past, visitors are prohibited from climbing on the mounds or conducting excavations of their own anywhere on the property.
Visitors are encouraged to use the small parking area, read the interpretive signs, picnic at the provided benches, and even take a stroll down to the Des Plaines River.
