German and Italian prisoners of war were held here during WWII and after the war had ended. There were 750 Italian prisoners on 9th February 1943 at a Red Cross inspection. Then it became a German working camp in 1945 with prisoners working on the surrounding farms.

It is recorded on the website below that the camp consisted of 'prefabricated single storey buildings surrounded by barbed wire aloft a high wire fence.'

The camp closed in July 1947 and then it was occupied by displaced Polish persons and soldiers.
