This great red and yellow star was painted in celebration of Iowa State University’s 150th anniversary. The artist used the school colors and ISU’s symbol in the center. The traditional red and white barn has “salt box” lean-to addition, the backdrop for this great painted quilt.
The clock on the main part of the barn is still working, and travelers still check their watches each time they pass by. It has been a fixture of the farm for many years but has now been enclosed in plexiglas as protection from the elements
Your Visit: This was one of many barn quilts we found on our way to NE Iowa this week.
Type of Barn: Barn still in use
