The San Diego Fire Departments website (visit link) doesn't have information about individual fire stations. Interestingly, this Wikipedia article lists this as Station #5 of 48. The Building itself indicates that it was established in 1913 and houses Engine Co. 5 and Battalion 2.
Nevertheless, this firehouse is notorious in the community because the annual Gay Pride Parade passes in front of this station. In 2007, firefighters sued the City because they reported that they were compelled to march in the Parade. They won the lawsuit...but with damages that did not repay their lawsuit costs-- and they refused to march in 2009. Many other firefighters however continued to march and support the Parade.
