The Tomah station is a wooden structure built by the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad (Milwaukee Road) in 1903 and is very typical of the depot design of that period. This station building is closed to passengers; passengers use a small shelter on the platform.
There is a large Amish population nearby who frequently ride Amtrak. It is not uncommon to see a horse and buggy parked outside this station.
