The Mantorville Opera House was completed in December 1918 with money raised by the community. Built as a live stage theater, the building has also been used as a bar, a club, city hall and a community center. In 1970 The Mantorville Theater Company took over and restored the building to it's original dignity. They have been putting on plays there ever since.
