Fliegerhorst Venlo was the largest airfield of the Germans during WW2 (1800 ha). It was part of the defence line „Kammhuberlinie“.

At the location you will find a chapel, which was during WW2 the guard house of the main gate. Notice the shooting holes at the sides of the chapel.
Behind the chapel you will find a memorial plague.
The green buildings behind the chapel (scouting group building) are located on the location where the guard buildings used to be located. After WW2 the guard buildings and the gates were removed.
