Fast Eddys is one of the more long standing cafe/restaurants in Perth. In decades gone there was but a single eatery in the centre of the city, but it has now franchised out to a bevy of restaurants scattered over the Perth area. This particular Fast Eddys is situated close to the original restaurant (which was destroyed by fire c. 1980), on the western side of the Perth CBD.

The clock is situated above the main entrance to the restaurant, facing out onto the street. Clearly visible, it is in operation, but it is now running one hour fast, though in years gone by, it told the correct time.
