The plaque accompanying this bench is set on a nearby rock and reads:
"PEARSON'S PERCH
iN 1965, Five-time Mayor of Del Mar, Tom Pearson,
worked with the Del Mar Civic Association to build
and install a bench at this spot for the public to enjoy
for rest and reflection. In 2010, the bench was
lovingly recreated and reinstalled through the efforts
of the Del Mar Rotary Club and community 'angels'
who donated their time and resources."
