As an accredited member of the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) the Great Plains Zoo & Delbridge Museum of Natural History in Sioux Falls, SD strives to fulfill four major objectives: Education, Conservation, Recreation and Discovery.
The Great Plains Zoo features over 1,000 animals from around the world. Our 45-acre park features animals in simulated natural habitats, such as the Asian Cat Habitat, Bear Canyon and our new African Savannah. Our popular Children’s Zoo gives visitors an up close and personal chance to interact with the animals.

Admission Fees: ADMISSION
Adults (Ages 13-59) $7.50 + tax
Youth (Ages 3 – 12) $4.50 + tax
Infant (Age 2 & Under) Free
Seniors (Ages 60+) $6.75 + tax
Hours of operation: OPEN YEAR-ROUND
April – September
9am-6pm (grounds clear at 7pm)
October – March
10am-4pm (grounds clear at 5pm)
Closed: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day & New Years Day
*Because the zoo remains open year round, some animals may be off display, and some exhibits may be closed due to weather.

Winter Hours: The Carrousel may operate during school holidays and weekends. Operation is weather and attendance dependent – please call ahead at 605-367-7003.
The Sanford Carrousel is closed for the season.
Farm Store:
The Farm Store, located in the Hy-Vee Face-to-Face Farm, is closed for the season.

Visit Instructions:
There will be no requirement for posting a visit; but a photo of you with your GPS or just your GPS somewhere on the museum grounds or in the museum would be fun. Preferrably at the entrance or near the museum sign. Actually going IN the museum is also NOT required for posting a log.
