First Baptist Church in Davenport is located two blocks east of the downtown area. The building was constructed in 1935 and is a rock building, with raised mortar. The building has an east-west gabled roof, with an entrance flanked by two curved rock stairway sidewalls. A double glass door opens into the lobby, with a stained glass transom reading "FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH / Rev. T. O. Collins / Building Pastor."
Two windows on the front and windows down both sides of the sanctuary are stained glass multi-paned double hung sashes, with three-segment triangular top lights. The two windows at the front have stained glass donor panels which read from the inside: "Mrs. J. Frank Dowell."

The church has a newer L-shaped building with classroom and office, south of this sanctuary. They are involved in running a Food Pantry to assist the local community. This is housed in a building west of the church on Broadway.
