The bridge was opened in 2009 and won the Institution of Civil Engineering Excellence Award 2009.
It is the new pedestrian and cycle bridge which links Aylesbury Town Centre and Southcourt, it is also the final piece of the jigsaw which links up all the new cycleways in Aylesbury.
It took over 100 builders 15 months to build, using 380 tonnes of steel and 2615 tonnes of concrete. The bridge is 260 metres long and 4.6 metres wide. The mast is 35 metres high.
The name was decided through a naming competition, it is named after Aylesbury's twin town of Bourg-en-Bresse in France.
