Congregation Beth Israel occupies a unique position in Western American religious history. As far as can be determined, it is the only Jewish congregation to occupy three different buildings in three different locations, all of which are still in existence and still in use.

The first synagogue, originally located at 1502 Second Avenue, has been moved to Heritage Park, next to Old Town State Park, and is used for private functions such as wedding receptions, parties, and corporate events.

This synagogue plus its adjacent social hall and school are still in use by another Jewish congregation.

Congregation Beth Israel moved to its new synagogue in October of 2001.
