Originally this statue was in the Dom Carlos Park, this city is known as the Garden of the Queen.
With the construction inside the park Malhoa Jose Museum, the statue was forced out of its original location, and it was then that he decided to meddle statue at the entrance of South City, which is the entrance most used.

Estatua da Rainha Fundadora da Cidade de caldas da Rainha, actualmente situada na Praça Conde de Fontalva.

Inicialmente esta estátua encontrava-se no Parque Dom Carlos, que é conhecido nesta cidade como o Jardim da Rainha.

Com a construção dentro do parque do Museu José Malhoa, a estátua foi obrigada a sair do seu local original, e foi então que se decidiu metera estátua na entrada Sul da Cidade, que é a entrada mais usada.

A Infanta D. Leonor, chamada também Dona Leonor de Portugal ou D. Leonor de Lancastre, e mais recentemente, no estrangeiro, "Leonor de Viseu", do nome do título secundário de seu pai o Infante D. Fernando (2 de Maio de 1458 - 17 de Novembro de 1525) foi uma princesa portuguesa da Casa de Avis, e rainha de Portugal a partir de 1481, pelo casamento com seu primo D. João II de Portugal, o Príncipe Perfeito. Pela sua vida exemplar, pela prática constante da misericórdia, e mais virtudes cristãs, alcançou de alguns historiadores o epíteto de Princesa Perfeitíssima, inspirado no cognome do rei seu marido, a cuja altura sempre se soube manter para o juizo da História.
