The East bank of the river Ergolz in Kaiseraugst is a small nature reserve, maintained by a local association. The area is home of many birds from the ordinary mallard duck to the very rare kingfisher.
Most of the area is out of reach for human beings, but there is a footbridge over the river near the mouth, where you can have an overlook of the Northern part of the area. Thare is a sign at the bridge that explains the looks and habits of the most important species.
