Due to the many years of neglect by the previous occupants of the Town of Hume Museum the roof had leaked and severely damaged the upstairs hardwood floors. Eric Richter of Troop 748 approached the Town Board to make the restoration of the floors his Eagle Scout Project. Eric Richter coordinated and completed the job with the help of 20 other Scout members. In November of 2003 Eric Richter was presented this plaque by the Town Board that is displayed in the museum foyer for all to see.
