Židovské osídlení v Trešti existovalo už ve 13. století. Náboženská obec je doložena od poloviny 17. století, zanikla za druhé svetové války.
Židovský hrbitov s kamennými náhrobky z pocátku 18. století leží na stráni v tzv. Korecníku na rozloze 3615 metru ctverecních. Mezi 1306 náhrobky nalezneme cenné ukázky barokního a klasicistního typu se symbolikou, nejstarší náhrobek pochází z roku 1705. Pohrbívat se zde prestalo v období II. svetové války, kdy všichni místní Židé byli násilne odvleceni do koncentracních táboru a do Trešte se již nikdy nevrátili. Dnes je hrbitov majetkem Židovské obce. V roce 2003 po jednašedesáti letech zde byly uloženy ostatky treštského potomka židovkého rodu Münchu - Wolfganga, který zemrel v Anglii.

Jewish settlement existed in Trešt as early as in 13th century. The religious community is recorded from 17th century but during the WW II it declined. Jewish cemetery with its stony gravestones from the beginning of 18th century is situated on the hillside at Korecník. Its area is about 3,615 square metres. Among 1306 gravestones, valuable examples of Baroque and Classicist style with symbolism can be found. The oldest gravestone dates to the year 1705. During the wartime the funerals were stopped there. Many Jews were dragged to the concentration camps and never came back again. Nowadays, the cemetery belongs to Jewish community. In 2003, after 61 years, the remains of the Trešt descendant of the Munch family who died in England were buried there.
