Le monument des Vingt-et-Un (1924)

Ce monument souligne l’arrivée des quatorze pionniers faisant
partie de la Société des Vingt-et-Un. L’architecte Armand Gravel
a dessiné les plans et les marbriers-sculpteurs Anselme Delwaide
et Rodolphe Goffin de Chicoutimi ont réalisé l’oeuvre. Vers 1926,
on a ajouté la statue du semeur, réalisation de l’entreprise
Carli-Petrucci. Ce semeur représente Alexis Simard qui a défié
l’interdiction de cultiver de la Compagnie de la Baie d’Hudson.
Annuellement, le 11 juin, une cérémonie se déroule au pied du
monument lors de la Fête du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean.
The monument of Twenty-One (1924)

This monument marks the arrival of fourteen pioneers making
part of the Society of Twenty-One. The architect Armand Gravel
drew plans and marble carvers Anselm Delwaide
Goffin and Rodolphe from Chicoutimi conducted the work. Around 1926
we added the statue of the Sower, realization of the company
Carli-Petrucci. This is Alexis Simard sower who defied
the interdiction of cultivating of the Hudson Bay Company.
Annually, June 11th, a ceremony takes place at the foot of
monument at the Festival du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean.
