Painted Barn Quilts are becoming more popular along the Iowa country roads. This colorful quilt was spotted along Hwy. 9 about 10 minutes west of Rock Rapids in the NW corner of the state. It appears to be a variation of the windmill pattern, very appropriate for this Dutch heritage so prominent in this area.
Your Visit:
We just happened to drive by this great example of Barn Quilt art. No one was home at the time, but a very friendly dog came out to greet us when I took the photos. I wonder how many others stop to see this example of rural artistry.
