The Malvern Fair was born on March 25, 1783. By request of some families living in the upper part of the place, the current Malveira de Cima, the Queen Mary I granted a charter for its realization.

The arguments of the population of Malvern were that it was useful for the cult image of Our Lady of Remedies that there are a chapel in his honor. The Queen issued an decree and gave permission that is going to hold an annual fair "free of rights" on the day of Our Lady of Remedies.
They have their annual feast, the FexpoMalveira, agricultural and livestock fair, held annually the second week of August, one of the largest county in Mafra area, which began in 1988 at the initiative of a group of Malveirenses.
The fair which began as the annual became a point in a weekly market which contributes to its history that is rich and busy and even tumultuous. For many decades was the main source of supply of cattle of Greater Lisbon and fueled Rezes of the Douro to the manufacturing process and aging of port wine. Also because of the geographical environment integration is selling fruit and vegetables, bread, clay and tin articles cooperage and the activities of local artisans.
