The very popular TV Series “Dallas” first appeared on American TV 1978 and revolved around a wealthy Texas family named Ewing. The central characters was J. R. Ewing, played by Larry Hagman, and brother Bobby Ewing, played by Patrick Duffy, who were the often feuding sons of oil and cattle baron Jock and Miss Ellie Ewing. In its time “Dallas” had it all, sex, lies, murder and wealth, it was truly the first night soap-opra. Dallas was originally shot entirely on location in Dallas, Texas. Later, most interiors for the show were shot at the MGM studios in Hollywood. Exteriors were shot at the Southfork Ranch in Parker, Texas, with the cast spending 6-8 weeks on site filming at the ranch, and other parts of Dallas. In 1989, when rising production costs led to all production being located in California
