This 9’ campus bell tower stands tall on the east edge of Westmar Memorial Park, the former home of Westmar College in LeMars, IA. The bell was given to Westmar in 1979 by Hoskins Evangelical United Brethren Church in Hoskins, Nebraska, and the tower was dedicated to the memory of Professor David Weiler that same year. Westmar was operational for 107 years including its 5-year association with Teikyo University based in Japan. The tower was moved to its present location in the park and dedicated in August of 2004, seven years after the college closed.
The park is located on the south side of 10th Street and holds several momentoes from the former institution including this bell tower, a sundial, several sculptures and a memorial to our military serviceman.
