This large freestanding arch was built in 1992 as part of the Chattahoochee Riverwalk on the Columbus, GA side of the river. It is located south of the Dillingham Street Bridge but north of the railroad train bridge that borders the Columbus Convention & Trade Center in downtown Columbus, GA. The Chattahoochee Riverwalk extends from here to the Eagle and Phenix Mill toward the north and to the Old Steamboat Landing toward the south. The riverwalk was dedicated on Columbus Day, October 12, 1992 as part of the quincentenary anniversary of Columbus arriving in the New World.
