There are remains of structures that were once there such as foundations of small houses and a well which appears to be currently dry and is fenced. This area has lots of trees and is near the Big Sioux River. The reason the people lived here at one point in time was that they mined the quartzite that Sioux Falls is sitting on top of to make blocks for roads and buildings and concrete. The quartzite was of lower value so eventually was not used as much and the town dissolved. The original name of the town was Ives.
